Searchlighter commissioned as a partner on Research Information Network (RIN) project

Searchlighter has been commissioned in March 2009 to work as a partner on a project set up by the Research Information Network (RIN) to create an online resource for scholarly communications policy and practice.

Searchlighter will be working with Mark Ware Consulting on the formulation of a web-based facility that will support key stakeholders – especially research funders, higher education institutions, libraries and publishers – to apply the common principles set out in the RIN’s Research and the Scholarly Communications Process: towards strategic goals for public policy.

This work will continue through most of 2009

Searchlighter reviews availability for new projects in 2009 after RIN commission

Searchlighter has been presenting its expertise in the context of playing a part in projects currently being developed for the JISC invitation for institutions to submit proposals in the Information Environment (IE) and Support for Research.

While Searchlighter is available for these projects should a project leader feel that its expertise and perspective, can make an appropriate contribution, the recent commission from the Research Information Network clearly restricts the available time to some extent. However, project leaders can always contact Searchlighter directly with regard to the work they are developing as Robin Beecroft would be very happy to discuss the work being developed.
