Services

Searchlighter’s work is funded by income from contracts primarily with groups, publishing companies, academic institutions, and research centres, and other organizations looking to develop their information environment and research communications.

While the services support the ‘Purpose’ outlined for Searchlighter financially and aim to progress its vision, there will be naturally be an interest in looking at most issues facing organizations in research communication

  1. Project partnership/development

Searchlighter considers proposals for engagement as a partner within projects active in the areas of interest and generally aligned with the mission. These kind of projects may well be carried out as collaborations between several participants and led by a particular organization.

  2. Consultancy

When work on a smaller scale is appropriate, Searchlighter offers a confidential consultancy service that may be specific and time limited. While this may also be within a collaborative project, it may also be for a single organization (like a publisher) looking to improve their knowledge in a certain area of their work.

  3. Contracted research

Searchlighter also works on contracts that may not involve any advice or analysis at the conclusion but where an organization needs access to specific information on publishing or research communication and for it to be collated on their behalf.

Robin Beecroft will be leading Searchlighter’s services at this time.
